Car hire with a debit card at Pointe-a-Pitre Airport is now available! Pointe-a-Pitre Airport serves the French archipelago of Guadeloupe, a French overseas department in the Caribbean. The archipelago is comprised of six different inhabited islands, with a majority of people residing on the largest two connected by bridge – Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre. Similar to France’s other overseas territories, Guadeloupe is fully considered part of France, and has all the benefits that come with that – such as the Euro and free travel with the EU. The islands were first discovered in the west by Christopher Columbus when it was inhabited by the native Arawak people, later colonised by the French in the 17th century.
Guadeloupe is considered to be a Caribbean paradise by many, with its beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters and volcanic peaks – a perfect island getaway! It’s not quite as well known as somewhere like the Bahamas or Aruba, and offers a much quieter (and cleaner!) beach visit. Popular beaches include the acclaimed St Anne Beach, and Petite Terre, where you can see all sorts of wildlife such as rays and turtles. Guadeloupe is also an ideal spot for ecotourists, offering activities such as diving / snorkelling, kayaking, and even whale watching, with local populations of humpback and toothed whale. Hiking is very popular too, with one of the most scenic routes along the active volcano La Soufriere.
Pointe-a-Pitre Airport is based in Abymes, just northeast of Pointe-a-Pitre, and sees over 2 million passengers each year. With collection in terminal, hiring a car couldn’t be any easier!
What Debit Cards do we accept, and how does it work?
We can accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, they just need to be linked to the driver’s bank account and have the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.

Yes there would be just be a standard 800 EUR deposit held on the debit card, unless you opt for extra insurance.
It depends on the supplier, but it’s either just debited and refunded or held as a pending transaction temporarily.
You can rent any standard models from mini Fiat 500’s to large 9-seat passenger vans. We just can’t rent our premium cars is all.
No extra costs at all.
Yes, we can rent to any drivers over 25.
You would just need to have held your licence for at least a year.
No, zero excess is completely optional, but you can add it on if you want to of course.
