Batumi is Georgia’s premiere holiday destination, and also its most important port being situated on the coast of the Black Sea. Famous for it’s beach resorts, tourist attractions and mix of both classic Georgian and novelty architecture, Batumi has certainly earned its nickname as the the “Las Vegas of the Black Sea”! The city has had a very long and varied history, originally settled as an Ancient Greek colony called “Colchis”, the city has changed hands numerous times over the years until Georgia gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
Batumi’s most obvious attraction is it’s famous seafront, with the Batumi Boulevard snaking alongside it. Lined with shops, restaurants and incredible sculptures and landmarks, a walk down the boulevard makes for a great day out – a particular stand out is the statue of Ali and Nino, a huge moving statue that comprises of two figures that eventually merge each day. That’s far from all there is though of course – there’s also the quaint old town with its beautiful architecture, the Dolphinarium for a chance to swim with dolphins, and a thriving nightlife scene to partake in, just to name a few. The Batumi Botanical Gardens come very highly recommended too, for a quieter excursion with breath-taking views.
Batumi Airport is barely a mile out of the city proper, and also serves those wanting to travel to north-eastern Turkey. With car rental desks directly in terminal, collecting your car couldn’t be more convenient!

All standard Visa / MasterCard debit cards linked to a bank account are accepted. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.
