When hiring a car in Winter, snow tyres are often required. These are provided by most suppliers in the colder climates but you should always check that they are available before booking.

If it is for your own peace of mind and you request Snow Tyres when booking then you could be charged, please bear that in mind.

If the country you are hiring in has made Snow Tyres mandatory then they should be provided at no extra cost. This tends to come into play between 1st November and 31st March in the below countries.

Snow tyres or snow chains are mandatory in France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Austria and Andorra, generally the more mountainous areas.
