Car hire with a debit card is now available from Mykonos Airport! Mykonos is a Greek Island in the Cyclades, one of the largest island groups in the Aegean Archipelago. Known locally as the “The Island of the Winds” thanks to its strong winds, Mykonos is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Aegean, famous for its lively nightlife! In mythology, Mykonos was the battleground of the Gigantomachy – a battle between Zeus and the Giants where Hercules was said to have lured them from Olympus and killed them. The huge boulders across the island are said to be what’s left of the giant’s remains!
Mykonos is the very definition of a Mediterranean paradise – with it’s chalk white buildings, golden sands and sapphire seas. You can probably imagine then that it has its fair share of great beaches, including Elia Beach, a particular favourite of sunbathers, and the aptly named Paradise Beach, a much livelier experience with daily parties and bars / restaurants lining the seafront. Harkening back to the island’s Venetian rule, you also the lovely neighbourhood of Alefkandra, or Little Venice as it’s most commonly known. With Venetian style 18th century buildings littering the picturesque coastline, this is often considered one of the most romantic spots on the island!
Mykonos Airport is based just a couple miles from the main town (also named Mykonos) and sees over a million passengers a year. With car hire desks directly in terminal, collecting your car couldn’t be easier!
What Debit Cards do we Accept?
We can accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, as long as they are linked to the driver’s bank account and have the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.
