Brandenburg Airport of course serves the German capital Berlin, and is actually quite a new airport, only opening back in 2020. It was built to replace the previous two airports serving the capital, Schoenfeld and Tegel, that were struggling to cope with the passenger numbers that skyrocketed after the city’s reunification in 1989. Built on the site of the old Schoenfeld airport, Brandenburg certainly lives up to that goal, despite taking 30 years to come to fruition! With 5 terminals, it has a theoretical capacity of an insane 46 million passengers per year, with even further expansion planned in the coming decades.
It goes without saying that there’s a lot to see and do in Berlin! The Brandenburg Gate is probably the most famous German landmark, originally built in 1791 on orders of the Prussian king, and has since become a defining symbol of the city. The Gate has been the site of many historical events, including becoming a party symbol for the Nazi’s in World War II, and conversely becoming a symbol of freedom during the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Reichstag building is also well worth a visit, a beautiful building that housed the interim Weimar Republic government between the two world wars, until the Nazi Party came into power in 1933. And of course there is the deeply moving Holocaust Memorial and the Memorial of the Berlin Wall.
What Debit Cards do we accept, and how does it work?
We can accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, they just need to be linked to the driver’s bank account and have the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.

It depends on the supplier, but it’s either just debited and refunded or held as a pending transaction temporarily.
All standard cars are fine, from mini cars to 9-seat passenger vans. Premium cars are the only restriction when using a debit card.
