Figari Airport Car Hire with a Debit Card
Car hire with a debit card is now available at Figari Airport! Figari Airport serves the local French commune of Figari in Corsica, though it’s often used for those staying in the nearby towns of Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio, and the rest of South Corsica generally. Porto Vecchio has only recently had much of a population, historically in a region that was mostly marshland and as such suffered hugely from mosquitoes and malaria, until it was mostly eradicated around the time of WWII. Bonifacio though has had a much longer history, as evidenced by its cliffside citadel pictured above, and has been controlled by the Romans, the HRE, the Papacy and Tuscany to name a few.
The medieval citadel and its stunning views overlooking the Mediterranean are a huge draw to the area, inside of which you will find the quaint and cozy old town absolutely bursting with history. The town also still has the remains of two Genoese towers, built when the town was controlled by the Republic of Genoa as a coastal defence. Porto Vecchio is also well worth a stay, with it’s idyllic small town harbour and world class eateries. Of course both areas are most famous for their stunning beaches, particularly the crystal clear waters of Plage du Petit Sperone near Bonifacio, and the white sand of Plage de Palombaggia near Porto Vecchio.
Making your way around the various Corsican beaches would be impossible without a rental car, luckily we are here to help! With collection in terminal, collecting your car couldn’t be any easier!
What Debit Cards do we accept, and how does it work?
We can accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, they just need to be linked to the driver’s bank account and have the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.

It depends on the supplier, but it’s either just debited and refunded or held as a pending transaction temporarily.
You can rent any standard models from the mini size to large 9-seat passenger vans. We just can’t rent our premium cars is all.
No extra costs, you may just be limited to certain suppliers is all.
Yes, we can rent to anyone over the age of 21.
No, zero excess is completely optional, but you can add it on if you want to of course.
