Burgas is Bulgaria‘s largest port city, situated on the eastern coast of the Black Sea, and is one of the countries biggest economic and cultural centres. A majority of people flying into Burgas however are there for a different reason – to visit the famous seaside resort of Sunny Beach, just 20 miles north! Created in 1958 as just a simple holiday destination for Bulgarian families, Sunny Beach has exploded in popularity across the years and has become one of the biggest holiday destinations in Europe.
Aptly named, Sunny Beach’s most prominent feature is it’s expanse of golden sands stretching miles down the coast, a sight very familiar to those used to the most famous Mediterranean resorts. It has all the amenities you’d expect too – sun loungers, children’s playgrounds, beachfront bars and restaurants all litter the promenade. The town is also host to a plethora of activities as well, including the Action Aquapark, Bulgaria’s first water park, and the Sunny Beach Luna Park, host to a ton of rides and rollercoasters. For those looking for something a bit more subdued the World Heritage site of Nesebar is a great stop too, essentially a city museum of Hellenistic Greek and Roman ruins.
Burgas Airport is located just a few miles north of the city, conveniently closer to Sunny Beach. Seeing a huge 3 million passengers per year, we have car desks there directly in the terminal, making collecting your car as easy as possible. We also have branches in Burgas and Sunny Beach too if you need something locally.
What Debit Cards do we accept, and how does it work?
We can accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, they just need to be linked to the driver’s bank account and have the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.
