Kittila Airport Card Hire with a Debit Card
We are happy to announce car hire with a debit card from Kittila Airport is now available! Kittila is a small municipality of Finland, located to the far north of the country in the famous Lapland region, commonly said to be the home of Santa. Travelling to the Arctic Circle can be like travelling to a completely different planet, with whole months of everlasting sun or darkness! Known as the “Midnight Sun”, this phenomenon is where the sun is in the sky continuously past midnight, and occurs for around 2 months between May and July. Kittila also sees the opposite as well – “Polar Nights”, with two weeks of continuous darkness around late December. Thankfully you also have the beautiful Aurora Borealis lighting up the sky as well, so it’s well worth it!
Most people flying into Kittila are coming to visit the famous Levi Ski Resort, one of Finland’s largest boasting 45 slopes in total! With a good mixture of beginner, intermediate and expert slopes, it’s a great family holiday destination for the winter. That’s far from all there is to do however – you could also pay a visit to the Snow Village in Lainio. The Snow Village is an amalgamation of ice hotel suites, restaurants and sculptures, all entirely sculpted from ice anew each year – making no two visits the same! Other nearby attractions include snowmobile safaris, husky rides and the reindeer farm too!
Kittila Airport is located just north of Kittila, around halfway between the town and the Levi Ski Resort. Collection is very convenient, with all the car hire desks just straight in terminal at the airport. As you can imagine getting around without a car in this much snow can be an absolute nightmare!
What Debit Cards do we accept, and how does it work?
We accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, they just need to be linked to the driver’s bank account with the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.

Yes certainly – we can rent to drivers as young as 19 at Kittila Airport.
Yes – all cars rented within the winter period (Nov – Mar) will come fully equipped with winter tyres, and you have the option to add on other equipment such as snow chains / ski rack when collecting the car.
Yes, you can take the car into any Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden and Denmark), just make sure you inform us when booking.
Nope, though you can add it on if you want it of course.
