We can now offer car hire with a debit card at Linz Airport! Linz is the capital of Upper Austria, and sits on the Danube river just south of the Czech border. Originally founded as a Classical Roman settlement under the name Lentia, Linz really came to prominence under the Holy Roman Empire, where it was a hugely important trading city, even serving as the final resting place for Emperor Friedrich III. Despite having such a famed history, Linz has more of a reputation as a contemporary city as of late, with a vibrant art life and modern arts scene exemplified by the futuristic buildings on the banks of the Danube.
Linz really has a bit of something for everyone! For those interested in its past and architecture, the Mariendom is a must-see – a huge gothic church that’s the largest of its kind in Austria. It’s particularly famous for its stained glass windows, with one known as the “Linz Window” depicting the entire history of the city. And for those more interested in modern arts and culture there’s the famous riverside Ars Electronica Center, an interactive technology museum with a very striking building, and the nearby Lentos Art Museum which houses a vast array of modern art.

What Debit Cards do we accept, and how does it work?
We can accept any standard Visa or MasterCard debit cards, they just need to be linked to the driver’s bank account and have the driver’s name on it. We cannot take any prepaid or top-up cards, nor Maestro or V-Pay.
